You may remember me referencing a conference I attended this past January in D.C. One of the speakers at the conference was Jim Wallis. Jim Wallis, the author of God's Politics: Why the Right Gets it Wrong and the Left Doesn't Get It, is someone worth listening to, in my opinion. He is an evangelical Christian who doesn't believe that the Religious Right speaks for all people of faith. He conducts himself with a humility and respect that is often lacking in other religious leaders who speak to the press on matters of faith and politics. I thought this interview on CBS Evening News was a good example of that contrast. Notice how the other gentleman interviewed arrogantly refers to those who disagree with him as "roadkill."
If you like Jim Wallis, I would also refer you to his new blog. I particularly enjoyed a dialogue that he conducted on his blog with Ralph Reed, the former head of the Christian Coalition.
