I voted yesterday. It was good to see so many people there, even for absentee voting. If you didn't get a chance to watch Senator Obama's infomercial last night, here it is. I loved it, of course, even with my husband walking in and out of the room muttering about propaganda and socialism and such :-)
Whatever you think about his politics, this has been one of the most amazing campaigns that I have ever seen. If he runs the country like he has run this campaign, we are in good hands. It has been brilliant and this week's final events, including last night's production, are being orchestrated with precision, focus and grace. The local campaign office, which I visited once, exhibited the same commitment to maintaining the tone of the Obama message that we have seen nationally. Millions of people feel like they are part of this process. Empowerment and ownership of our common goals and shared challenges has ignited the kind of passion that we saw in that stadium last night at the end of the infomercial.
It looks very likely that Senator Obama will be our next president. I pray that he is up to the task and can deliver the leadership we so desperately need.
